Malindo Air in Brief
A cooperative pact between the two countries Malaysia and Indonesia led to the formation of Malindo Air an airline offering budget tickets. The name itself is derived from the name of the countries. Headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, its base of operations are Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. It started operations in March of 2013 with a handful of aircraft including ATRs. Its maiden flight was from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. Although the airlines started off recently in comparison to the others operating in the region its name has become synonymous with good service at a reasonable cost. Initially, it started off with flights to domestic locations within Malaysia and then moved onto international flights as well. Its first international flight was to Dhaka, Bangladesh in August of 2013.

Malindo Airlines currently has 47 aircraft in its fleet including 18 ATR 72-600s, 23 Boeing 737-800s and 6 Boeing 737-900ERs. The carrier was the first to operate the brand new dual-class layout B737-900ER in Malaysia. ATRs are usually used for local and domestic flights whereas the larger aircraft is being used for international and regional flights.
Currently,this airline from Malaysia is operating around 800 flights a week to 43 destinations including multiple domestic destinations and several regional and international destinations. It flies to Thailand, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Australia.
